The Osprey Kestrel 58 is a tough, well-built backpack designed to be an outdoor workhorse on multi-day self-sufficient trips and well-equipped days out.
There's plenty of room for your kit in the main compartment, plus additional access through the huge front panel and bottom zips. Or use the internal divider to zone off a separate sleeping bag compartment in the base.
Trekking essentials can be stowed nearer to hand - hydration system in the dedicated external sleeve; water bottles in the reinforced side pockets; food in the lid; snacks in the hipbelt pockets; waterproofs in the stretch 'shove-it' pocket on the front - so more time can be spent on the trail and less searching through everything for the one thing you need right now.
Even equipment has its place: loops for poles and axes, straps for sleeping mat, lashing loops for everything else you need. The Kestrel will ensure that everything you need is right there with you.
Of course, carrying gear for several days is only practical with a robust quality and a well-designed harness and the Kestrel meets this standard head-on. Specialised for comfort and stability, with the established AirScape back panel, a sturdy hipbelt and adjustable harness, it makes hefting a load as easy as possible. Simply adjust it to your body, load up and head out; the Kestrel will be your trusty trekking companion through thick and thin.
The Kestrel range comes in two sizes with adjustable back lengths: S/M which is 41 to 51 cm and M/L which is 48 to 58 cm long. It is best to measure your Torso length and choose accordingly.
As a rough guide if you are 5"8 (172cm) or shorter you would be better of with S/M. Those between 5"9 (172cm) and 5"11 (180cm) can choose either depending on their preference and how they would like it to sit. If you are above 5"11 (180cm) you will find the M/L fit better.
