The Outdoor Research Ascendant Balaclava is one of the best fitting and comfortable balaclavas available. The Polartec Alpha Direct insulation is really warm and wicks moisture away from the head very effectively to keep the wearer warm and dry. A stretch nylon covering helps keep out the wind and snow. A strip of Polartec Powergrid has been inserted down the front for breathing through with either mouth or nose.

The fitted head shape can be pulled back off the head like the hood on a jacket.
