Founded after the closure of the old shoe factory in Richmond, Yorkshire in 1989, Altberg have quietly gone on to become an important part of the outdoor footwear trade in both the UK and further afield. As well as walking boots, they manufacture an extensive range of specialist Military, Police and motorcycle boots, both within the factory in Yorkshire, and their other factory, founded in 2001, based within a well-known boot-making area of Italy, close to many tanneries, sole makers and boot hardware manufacturers ( D-rings, etc.).
Open Air stock models made on Altberg’s A-Forme last, and their wider-fitting G-Fit last. These have been a great success for us, and the Altberg Malham is one of the best-selling boots in the footwear shop. All Altberg footwear can be resoled, and this is done at the factory in Richmond.
