This is new redesigned for 2016 version of a very popular Kestrel 68 a large hiking rucksack from Osprey. It is meant for multi day trips where you are expecting to carry a substantial amount of gear. Clever organisation options with two big side pockets, separate bottom compartment and plethora of pockets. The lines are now much cleaner with less straps sticking out and overall it has been streamlined compared to the older one. The backpanel received a very nice overhaul overall improving carrying comfort quite a bit.

The Osprey Kestrel 68 is suitable for any season, in wet weather and heavy downpours the built in rain cover provides protection. During hotter conditions the adjustable AirScape back panel keeps you well ventilated whilst offering the load support you require. Comes in two torso sizes. For help with sizing please look at "Size & Fit" tab.

Which size should I choose?

New Kestrel backpack comes in two size S/M and M/L. There is some adjustability within each size, as the shoulder straps can be moved up and down using a Velcro system. It is best to measure your torso length and choose accordingly.

S/M size starts at 43 cm and will expand up to 53cm, size M/L starts at 50cm and will expand to 60cm.  If you are near the maximum expansion for smaller size, it is best to go for a larger size. As a rough guide if you are 5"10 (178cm) or shorter you would be better of with S/M. Those between 5"10 (178cm) and 6" (182cm) should get away with either. If you are above 6" (182cm) you will find the M/L fit better. If you are still unsure or would like to talk to someone who is experienced in fitting Osprey Packs give us a call we should be able to help!
